Razer Atlas – gaming mat made of tempered glass! Leave a comment

Razer continues launching new peripherals and accessories using modern technologies and ready-made solutions. Of course, 2023 was no exception. Razer has been very energetic in releasing new products and has not stopped pleasing us.

Another example is the Atlas gaming mat, which, unlike other mats, is made of high-quality tempered glass. Cool, right? Not only does it sound cool, but it also has several benefits. But first, about everything in order.

The new Razer Atlas will be available in black and white, weighs 2kg, and has a rubberized base, so the mat stays in place very well. In addition, it has an optimal size of 45 x 40 cm and a thickness of 5 mm.

But the most remarkable, of course, is the basic material of production – tempered glass. This is what the mat surface is made of and is also micro-etched to create a texture on the mat for optimal sensor performance. In addition, Razer has applied an oleophobic coating to the Atlas, which improves glide, reduces drag and noise when moving the mouse, and protects the mat from scratches and dirt.

Razer Atlas has rounded edges for added safety. At the same time, the developers strongly recommend not drying the mat in the sun, exposing it to fire, or using it as a lens in direct sunlight. And, of course, it should not be used as a “handy tool” in disputes with others.

A new mat is best cleaned with a cloth washed in warm water. It is also important that the mat is on a flat surface during cleaning.

The Razer Atlas will outperform many cloth mats for smooth gliding and reduced friction. The problem is that not all sensors work well with transparent surfaces. However, the new PixArt PAW-3950 sensor, developed with Razer, works well on glass tables and carpets. It’s in the Razer DeathAdder V3, DeathAdder V3 Pro, Viper Mini Signature Edition, Viper V2 Pro, Basilisk V3 Pro, and other mice.
